Dillian Whyte is set to compete against Joe Joyce, a former WBO interim titleholder and Olympic silver medalist, in a heavyweight match scheduled for April 5. Whyte, who has faced boxing champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, will meet Joyce at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester. Joyce, who recently suffered an unexpected defeat to Derek Chisora in July, will prepare for the match against Whyte by facing Patrick Korte in March. Additionally, rival London boxers Lawrence Okolie and Richard Riakporhe will battle in the main supporting fight on the card. Okolie, who lost his WBO cruiserweight world title to Chris Billam-Smith, later claimed the WBC bridgerweight title. Lawrence Okolie secured the WBC bridgerweight world title in a dramatic fashion, knocking Lucasz Rozanski down three times before the referee stopped the fight in the first round. He has transitioned to the heavyweight division and is set to compete against Riakporhe in that category. Riakporhe, a former contender for the world title, squared off against Billam-Smith at Selhurst Park in London and has a heated rivalry with Okolie. English heavyweight champion David Adeleye is set to face fellow London heavyweight, Jeamie TKV. Also See: Adeleye bounced back from his defeat by Fabio Wardley with a stunning first-round knockout of Solomon Dacres. TKV claimed his most recent win earlier this month by stopping Michael Webster after nine rounds in their bout at Wembley Arena. Paris Olympian Delicious Orie is set to make his professional debut on the same event. Chris Billam-Smith successfully defended his WBO cruiserweight world title against Riakporhe, securing a unanimous decision victory at Selhurst Park. Whyte is seeking a match against Joshua. Whyte’s rematch with Joshua was canceled in August 2023 following adverse results from a drug test. After being cleared to continue his career, Whyte won matches against Christian Hammer and Ebenezer Tetteh last year. He remains eager to have that fight with Joshua.
