Trump Admin Takes Action Against Federal Judge’s ‘Crazy’ DOGE Ruling [WATCH]

The Trump administration has submitted a request to invalidate or adjust a federal court’s temporary injunction that prevents the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, along with political appointees, from obtaining sensitive payment records from the Treasury Department. This request was made by Cloud Software Group, Inc. Tom Krause, the CEO currently serving as a special government employee at the Treasury Department, emphasized the necessity for high-ranking political appointees to have access to briefings on Treasury information when needed. He articulated, “It is crucial for top political appointees, including the Treasury Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Chief of Staff, and Under Secretaries, to have the capability to participate in briefings regarding data sourced from Treasury employees possessing the proper access to effectively carry out their responsibilities.” He included this in the official statement. Additionally, Dennis Quaid has issued a significant warning to Americans. Krause pointed out that while these officials “typically do not need to access or examine data from such systems,” there may be situations that necessitate their access. On Saturday, Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly issued a temporary restraining order, declaring that “political appointees, special government employees, and any government employee assigned from an agency outside the Treasury Department” are prohibited from accessing Treasury payment systems or any data that includes personally identifiable information. The order further requires those who have previously accessed such data to “immediately destroy all copies of materials downloaded from the Treasury Department’s records and systems.” Do you believe that the economy will get better with Donald Trump in charge? The legal dispute arises from a lawsuit filed by 19 state attorneys general against President Donald Trump, the U.S. Treasury Department, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The suit claims that the Trump administration improperly granted DOGE access to Treasury payment systems without proper authorization. A restraining order was previously issued by Kollar-Kotelly on Thursday to prevent Treasury officials from allowing DOGE access to payment records managed by the Treasury Bureau of Fiscal Service, which oversees around 90% of federal payments. Prior to that order, the Justice Department had suggested restricting access to the records to just two specially appointed government employees from DOGE, providing them read-only access. The court approved this plan, allowing only Krause and Marko Elez—a former employee of Musk’s company—to see the data. However, this changed with a subsequent order on Saturday that revoked that access. Elez, designated as a special government employee at the Treasury Department, has since resigned. The lawsuits initiated by various government employee unions contesting DOGE’s level of access to Treasury data have fueled the case. The unions contend that Bessent inappropriately allowed DOGE to inspect sensitive Treasury records as part of a government-wide assessment of payment systems. Now, with the Trump administration aiming to overturn the restraining order, the legal battle over Treasury payment record access is likely to persist in the courts.
