Mississippi Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hosemann suffered a sudden collapse while addressing the state Senate on Wednesday, prompting immediate concern among lawmakers.

The incident, caught on video, showed Hosemann standing at the podium before suddenly leaning forward and falling to the chamber floor. Colleagues and staff members quickly rushed to his side, and the Senate promptly recessed, as reported by The Associated Press.

According to spokesperson Hannah Milliet, she confirmed Hosemann was in good spirits and recovering well in an email she sent.

“Lieutenant Governor Hosemann is doing well and in good spirits. He appreciates all of the medical staff and is eager to return to work.”
