Major Update in Jay-Z and Diddy Sexual Assault Against a Minor Case [WATCH]

A lawsuit accusing rapper Jay-Z of sexual assault was dismissed after the plaintiff’s attorney withdrew the case, prompting the music mogul to declare “victory.”

The lawsuit, filed in December 2024, alleged that Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulted a 13-year-old girl following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.

In a statement issued Friday, Jay-Z, 55, denounced the claims as baseless.

“Today is a victory. The frivolous, fictitious, and appalling allegations have been dismissed. This civil suit was without merit and never going anywhere,” he said.

“The fictional tale they created was laughable, if not for the seriousness of the claims. I would not wish this experience on anyone.”

The rapper went on to express frustration over the impact the case had on his family, including his wife, Beyoncé.

“The trauma that my wife, my children, loved ones, and I have endured can never be dismissed,” he added.

“This 1-800 lawyer gets to file a suit hiding behind Jane Doe, and when they quickly realize that the money grab is going to fail, they get to walk away with no repercussions. The system has failed.”

Jay-Z also addressed the broader issue of legal protections for the accused.

“The court must protect victims, OF COURSE, while with the same ethical responsibility, the courts must protect the innocent from being accused without a shred of evidence. May the truth prevail for all victims and those falsely accused equally.”

Combs, who was named in the lawsuit alongside Jay-Z, also responded through his legal team, condemning the allegations.

“Today’s complete dismissal without a settlement by the 1-800 attorney is yet another confirmation that these lawsuits are built on falsehoods, not facts,” Combs’ attorney said.

“For months, we have seen case after case filed by individuals hiding behind anonymity, pushed forward by an attorney more focused on media headlines than legal merit. Just like this claim, the others will fall apart because there is no truth to them.”

Combs’ legal team added, “Sean Combs has never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor. No number of lawsuits, sensationalized allegations, or media theatrics will change that reality. We will continue to fight these baseless claims and hold those responsible. This is just the first of many that will not hold up in a court of law.”

The lawsuit was originally filed in New York’s Southern District in October 2024 against Combs before being refiled in December to include Jay-Z.

The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, claimed that she was assaulted at an afterparty following the September 7, 2000, MTV Video Music Awards in New York City.

According to court documents, Jay-Z’s legal team, led by attorney Alex Spiro, sought either dismissal of the allegations or the public disclosure of the plaintiff’s identity.

“Defendant is respectfully seeking either dismissal of the allegations or disclosure of the Plaintiff’s identity. Fair is fair,” the memorandum stated.

Spiro’s filing also argued that Jay-Z should have the right to know the identity of his accuser, stating, “Mr. Carter deserves to know the identity of the person who is effectively accusing him—in sensationalized, publicity-hunting fashion—of criminal conduct, demanding massive financial compensation, and tarnishing a reputation earned over decades.”

Jay-Z’s legal team accused the plaintiff’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, of filing baseless lawsuits against high-profile figures for financial gain.

“Mr. Carter should not have to defend himself in the brightest of spotlights against an accuser who hides in complete darkness while leveling allegations,” the motion added.

Jay-Z also alleged that Buzbee previously attempted to extort him through multiple demand letters, one related to the recently dismissed lawsuit and another involving a separate allegation that did not make it to court.

Court documents revealed that Buzbee had sent two letters in November 2024, one tied to the dismissed case and another from an unnamed accuser claiming Jay-Z assaulted him at a 2015 Beverly Hills party when the accuser was 16.

The claim alleged the individual was drugged by someone other than Jay-Z.

In his earlier response, Jay-Z called the lawsuits an attempt to extract money.

“My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee,” he said in a previous statement.

“What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle.”

“No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”

Jay-Z further criticized Buzbee’s legal tactics, stating, “These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?”

The lawsuit’s dismissal marks a significant legal victory for Jay-Z and Combs, as they continue to deny any wrongdoing.
