Jim Tressel, the ex-football coach at Ohio State University, has received a nomination to serve as the lieutenant governor of the state. After Republican Jon Husted left the U.S. Senate, Governor Mike DeWine (R-Ohio) announced at a press conference that he plans to appoint Tressel, 72, to fill Husted’s position for the remaining two years of the term. “He possesses the necessary skills for the role.” He meets the criteria that I specified. “He is familiar with Ohio,” DeWine remarked.
