American Airlines Flight Delayed Amid Suspected Bomb Threat

Last week, an American Airlines flight experienced a delay of more than four hours at Austin Airport due to a passenger having a Wi-Fi hotspot named “I have a bomb.” Law enforcement intervened on American Airlines Flight 2863, which was set to depart from Austin, Texas, to Charlotte, North Carolina, at 1:42 p.m. During the flight, law enforcement requested that the passenger reveal their identity, as there was a chance it could be a “prank.” “The whole plane groaned when the officer made the announcement,” one passenger remembered. Nobody admitted to being responsible for the Wi-Fi hotspot.
